Improving medical infrastructure
If healthcare centres do not have a reliable infrastructure, people cannot be provided with medical care.
Reliable equipment, healthy hospitals
What is taken for granted in Switzerland is problematic in the health centres supported by SolidarMed: medicines, blood reserves or vaccinations cannot be used without refrigeration because they spoil. Even surgeries cannot be performed safely if instruments cannot be sterilised or there is a lack of soap and disinfectant.
Good infrastructure means better care
Medical competence and quality create trust among the population. The sustainable strengthening of health facilities in remote regions in particular helps health centres and hospitals in remote districts so that they can continue to make an important contribution to basic medical care.
We are working with partners and authorities to strengthen healthcare systems.
